About This Tour
Samburu is among Kenya's most scenic reserves, with riverine forest along the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. Close to the river is also where you're most likely to see leopards. Near the river, Dry Acacia scrub and semi-arid savannah, peppered with termite mounds, takes over and extends all the way to the mountains that define the park's northern boundary. Koitogor Hill marks the middle of the reserve.

Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve – Scenic Journey & Afternoon Game Drive
Your 3-day Samburu National Reserve safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through Kenya's central highlands, crossing the Equator before arriving at your lodge in time for lunch.
After checking in and relaxing, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Explore the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River in search of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the unique Samburu Special Five Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Samburu
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with your professional guide. Discover its diverse landscapes while searching for big cats, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, crocodiles, and over 450 bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve before continuing your safari. You may also choose to visit a traditional Samburu village (optional) for an authentic cultural experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of your lodge. Depending on your departure time, embark on a final morning game drive, offering one last chance to spot wildlife in the cool morning hours.
Afterwards, begin your scenic drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Samburu safari from Nairobi.
